As one of the leading associations in the area of automatic control in Serbia, in 1985 SAUM grew up from the Society of Serbia for Systems, Automatic Control and Measurements - USAUM which was founded in the long-ago-passed 1980. SAUM consists of several regional SAUM Societies. The role of SAUM is to help all the aspects of automatic control development in Serbia. This is why since its very foundation it has had rich range of activities as: scientific presentations through many differently oriented scientific sessions, national and international seminars, scientific journal publishing and especially scientific conferences organized each third year since 1982. These important scientific gatherings have become traditional.
